Office Accommodation, A&P TyneThe RequirementShip repair and conversion specialists, A&P Group on Tyneside had a requirement for two-storey office accommodation for occupation by one of A&P’s customer teams from the off-shore oil industry.
The SolutionA 9,600sqft building was relocated by Foremans to A&P’s dock facility at Hebburn. The offices were previously used to accommodate airside administrative operations for an airline at Newcastle Airport. When it became surplus to the airport’s requirements, Foremans decommissioned and dismantled the building into its modular units. Because this building had previously occupied a constrained airside site, health and safety were critical for its removal using cranes. In order to minimise disruption to the airport’s operations, Foremans took full responsibility for the project, including evaluation of the building, scheduling and implementing the programme. The modules were then craned into position and refurbished for A&P .Comments from the Client John Leckie, Facilities Manager at A&P Tyne: "We looked at various construction options, including new build, other modular suppliers and the conversion of an existing facility. Foremans provided us with a larger building to meet our future needs, which was immediately available locally. This reduced transport and handling costs and met our time constraints." "The Foremans team was very professional at every stage and we were pleased with their approach and the efficient delivery of the building." ![]() |
