The recycling of modular buildings is one of the most environmentally friendly methods of construction but with no compromise on quality. Research has shown that refurbished steel-framed modular buildings consume less than 10 per cent of the carbon dioxide required to manufacture new modules.
A spokesperson for the Estates Department at South Warwickshire General Hospital NHS Trust, said, “The quality of Foremans’ buildings has been very good and their performance overall has been superb, despite having to work on constrained, challenging sites. The ward building is now nearing completion and I am pleased to report its construction has gone very well.”
He added, “We appointed Foremans for their ability to produce quality buildings in a short timescale. Speed of construction is critical for the Trust to maintain its performance targets and modernise its services.”
Foremans’ approach gives health service providers all the advantages of modular building – faster programme times, improved quality and less disruption to staff and patients – with the additional benefits of sustainability and value for money because the buildings are made from refurbished pre-owned modules.
