Foremans Relocatable Building Systems, the UK’s largest supplier of pre-owned modular buildings, has scored a major industry first with the launch of a ground-breaking warranty package.

Foremans is the first company to offer three-year product and ten-year structural warranties on refurbished modular buildings in a move, which gives businesses, contractors and developers further confidence in the quality, strength and long-term durability of this highly sustainable, fast and cost-effective method of construction.

A three-year product warranty covering the external fabric of the building and a ten-year structural warranty for the load-bearing elements are now available as standard for fully refurbished buildings supplied by Foremans using the Portakabin Duplex modular systems.

Commenting on the introduction of the new warranty package, David Johnson, Managing Director of Foremans, said, "Companies across the industry claim to offer quality products and services, but we wanted to go a step further by giving our customers complete peace of mind. The demolition and disposal of buildings has significant landfill implications and is damaging to the environment. Foremans’ approach is to re-use modular buildings, which are completely refurbished and reconfigured to provide bespoke accommodation for either permanent or temporary applications. This is a much more sustainable method of construction, which uses less than 10 per cent of the carbon required for a newly manufactured building of equivalent size.  

This approach also minimises wastage and energy consumption, and allows other organisations to benefit from all the advantages of off-site construction – speed, quality, value for money and much less disruption.

Foremans supplies pre-owned steel-framed modular buildings in both single and multi-storey configurations, which can be fitted out for a wide range of applications, such as offices, schools, hospitals and airports. A full range of support services are also provided, including the design of interior and exterior layouts, fitting out, foundations, project management and installation of all building services.

Foremans also purchases surplus modular buildings to increase their stocks.
